Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries pitted if fresh
  • 1/4 cup fresh citrus juice lemon or lime juice
  • 2 Tablespoons honey or simple syrup adjust to taste
  • 1/4 cup water or ice for blending

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Measure out two cups of cherries, removing pits from fresh ones or using frozen cherries directly. Place them into your blender.
  2. Add a quarter cup of fresh citrus juice to enhance the flavor and brightness of the slushie.
  3. Pour in two tablespoons of honey or simple syrup to sweeten the mixture—feel free to adjust based on the cherries’ natural sweetness.
  4. Drop in a quarter cup of water or ice to help the blender create a smooth, even slush consistency.
  5. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high for about 30-45 seconds, until the mixture appears icy, smooth, and ruby-red in color.
  6. Stop the blender and check the texture—if it’s too thick, add a splash more water or ice and blend briefly again.
  7. Pour the chilled cherry slushie into glasses, using a spoon or ladle, and serve immediately for the best icy texture.

Notes

For a thicker slushie, add more ice or freeze the mixture briefly before serving. Garnish with fresh cherries or a citrus wedge for presentation.
