- Combine the hot water and granulated sugar in a small pot and stir over medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is clear. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
- Pour the cooled sugar syrup into a mixing bowl and add the whiskey, lemon juice, and cold water. Whisk everything together until well blended, creating a sweet, citrusy base.
- Transfer the mixture to a shallow baking dish or a freezer-safe container. Place it in the freezer and allow it to chill for about 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to break up ice crystals and promote an even slush.
- Once the mixture has firmed up into a slushy consistency, scoop it into a blender.
- Blend the mixture for about 15-20 seconds until it reaches a smooth, icy, granular texture with small ice crystals.
- Pour the chilled slushie into glasses and serve immediately for a frosty, refreshing drink.
Notes
For a stronger whiskey flavor, increase the amount of whiskey. You can also add a splash of citrus or a mint sprig for garnish.
